Around Australia 2023

 Day Four Sunday 12 March Cape Otway Great place to visit, went into the lighthouse and explored. Had some lunch and climbed the lighthouse. Queue was a mile long but met some interesting people. Bloody cold! So interesting and full of history  View of lighthouse In the queue View from lighthouse  Up the top of lighthouse On the way home, Josh spotted this koala in a tree beside the road!  Back to caravan park and went for a walk to foreshore, had some nibblies and a drink  Off back to Melbourne tomorrow for a week with Josh and Brendan. Great time on the Great Ocean Road

 11 March Day Three at Apollo Bay Decided to do a wine and food trail. Stopped at a cheese factory, a chocolate factory and a gin distillery at Timboon. Port Campbell - there was an outdoor wedding going on here and it was bloody freezing! Gorgeous place however.  Gin distillery at Timboon. We were going to go onto Port Fairy but the owner of the distillery told us there was a music festival on there that weekend and it would be a nightmare to get in and out of! Went to Port Campbell instead! Feeding the alpacas at the chocolate factory

 10 March 2023 Whilst at Apolllo Bay we explored: Day Two The Twelve Apostles Loch Ard Gorge - had a picnic lunch and a wee dram on the beach. London Bridge (or what’s left of it!) Bay of Matyrs

 Caravan Park at Apollo Bay bit of a squeeze. We got a cabin for the boys so they would be a bit more comfortable than on the lounge in the van. Love Apollo Bay! Great place to use as a base to explore the area.  Having a drink at the caravan park. Apollo Bay

 9 Match 2023 Stayed at Torquay Foreshore Caravan Park for a couple of days before Josh and Brendan arrived as we were going to head off to Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Road as soon as they arrived. Once Josh and Brendan arrived we headed off to Apollo Bay and the Great Ocean Road First stop was lunch at a pub on a hill at Aireys Inlet. Climbed a lighthouse where the kids show Around the Twist was filmed. Beautiful place Drove through Lorne, beautiful place but very busy! Onto to Apollo Bay, our base for the next four days.

 March 3 2023 Mixture of emotions as we were leaving everything and everyone for quite a while. But very excited tinged with some sadness. Knowing we were heading off to see Josh and Brendan helped!  First stop was Bulhadelah. Stayed at the Bulhadelah Bowling Club, powered site but no water. Pretty little town, went for a walk and then dinner at bowls club. Early start tomorrow on way to Yass. Stayed at Yass caravan park where we caught up with Geoff and Gerda. We will be travelling to the Kimberley with them in May.  On to Benalla where we did our very first ever free camp. Stayed at the Showgrounds and watched the border collie trials. It was so interesting! Next stop is Torquay where we will meet Josh and Brendan! Can’t wait!
